Common Mistakes

actually is a False Friend, if we want to say "actualment", we must say: at present, now, at this moment in time, at the present time,...

adjectives don't have plural form, so we cannot say: beautifuls, importants,...

have lunch, have breakfast,... are used without a.  Then, have a lunch, have a dinner,... is incorrect.

In general, we say go to... but we say go home.

Can/can't  are followed by an infinitive: can go /can fly,...

Fly is a verb, it means "volar". Flight is a noun, the meaning is "un vol".

Remember the difference in the use of have and have got:
- I have got /I haven't got/have I got...?
- I have /I don't have/ Do I have...?

say TO somebody: he said to me
tell somebody: he told me

What in catalan we translate as Molt/s/es in English is expressed:
A lot of + Noun:  a lot of tourists/ flowers,...
very + Adjective: very big /very interesting,...

Next to the beach but near the beach

other + plural noun: other people, other days...
another+ singular noun: another person, another day...

A preposition is followed by a verb in the gerund form or by a noun:
after visiting...or after the visit...

Other considerations

- Remember to use connectors to link your sentences and divide the text in paragraphs.
- Try to build long sentences using relative pronouns, for instance:
I go to work by my car. My car is new and comfortable....
It's better: I go to work by my car which is new and comfortable.
